Managing a secure, scalable, and efficient Azure environment requires structure, knowledge, and continuous improvement. That is why we have been working hard over the past few months to obtain Azure Expert MSP certification, a status reserved for a select group of Microsoft partners worldwide.

For us, this certification is not the end goal, but a logical step in the further development of our services. Because Microsoft sets strict requirements, we have started an extensive internal process to meet approximately 60 criteria. This has enabled us to further optimize our processes and tooling. This has direct benefits for our collaboration with our customers: more control, efficiency, and quality. This allows us to support you even better.

Cloud Center of Excellence: continuously improving our services

As part of the process, we have set up a Cloud Center of Excellence: a multidisciplinary team that focuses on developing, safeguarding, and optimizing our standards and best practices. This team consists of various experts, including platform and automation specialists and a compliance officer. They meet regularly to evaluate the quality of our management service and make targeted improvements.

One concrete result is the new management structure we have developed for our Managed Azure service. Our architects now also carry out bi-monthly ‘well-architected reviews’: assessments based on the Microsoft framework that indicate how the customer organization is performing and in which areas it is making progress.

With the arrival of the Cloud Center of Excellence, our architects are now able to work with customers in an even more structured way to identify opportunities for optimization!

Cloud management platform: greater speed, control, and consistency

One of the biggest changes in the way we work is the introduction of a new cloud management platform. This will enable us to support customers on three fronts.

Firstly, requesting new Azure subscriptions will become easier. You will soon be able to do this yourself via a portal, after which your subscription will be automatically set up. At the touch of a button!

In addition, we have set up an automated process for rolling out resources. This will soon be done via pipelines. Each request goes through fixed checks based on best practices. Thanks to reusable templates, the quality is consistent. And this process naturally speeds things up considerably: via the self-service portal, you can easily request resources that Wortell delivers quickly, with our best practices incorporated.

Finally, we are bringing policy management entirely into code. This allows us to maintain maximum control over what happens within customer environments. This approach prevents errors, speeds up the processing of requests, and ensures better coordination (who can access which resources?).
