More value in the Microsoft 365 bundles

In the coming months, Microsoft will be expanding several Microsoft 365 and Office 365 bundles with additional features in the areas of AI, security, and endpoint management. At the same time, Microsoft has announced a price change effective July 1, 2026.
What exactly will you get? And what does this mean for your licenses, security, and costs? In this blog, we'll break it down for you.

More value in the Microsoft 365 bundles

Microsoft is investing heavily in strengthening the standard bundles. The focus is on three themes: AI support, better security, and more control over endpoints.

1. AI: Copilot Chat as a foundation

The Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat functionalities have been widely available since September and will be further expanded in the coming period. This includes better integration into Microsoft 365 apps, more management options, and additional security and analytics capabilities around AI use.

This helps organizations deploy AI in a controlled and secure manner, without separate tooling or additional management complexity.

2. Additional security included as standard

Security is increasingly being added as standard to existing bundles:

  • More comprehensive protection against phishing, malware, and malicious links, including URL checks in Outlook and Office apps
  • Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 is being added to Office 365 E3 and Microsoft 365 E3
  • Greater visibility and control over user behavior and threats, without additional add-ons

For many organizations, this means fewer separate security products, but a higher basic level of protection.

3. Endpoint management: Intune functionalities integrated

In the area of endpoint management, Microsoft is also increasingly incorporating add-ons into its bundles:

  • Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 are being expanded with multiple Intune Suite functionalities
  • These include Remote Help, Advanced Analytics, and Intune Plan 2
  • For Microsoft 365 E5, Endpoint Privilege Management, Enterprise Application Management, Cloud PKI, and Security Copilot are being added

Functionalities that previously required separate licenses are now part of the suite.

More storage for Business subscriptions

Users of Microsoft 365 Business subscriptions will also receive 50 GB of additional email storage. A small change, but in practice a much-requested enhancement.

Price change as of July 1, 2026

With these expansions, Microsoft has announced that the prices of various bundles will be adjusted as of July 1, 2026.

A few examples:

  • Microsoft 365 E3: +8.3%
  • Microsoft 365 E5: approximately +5.5%

The exact impact on your organization depends on:

  • your current licenses
  • contract type
  • Microsoft's local pricing in euros

What does this mean for your organization?

The most important question is not only what it costs, but above all what you get in return. In many environments, we see that:

  • separate add-ons are becoming redundant
  • security and endpoint management are reaching a higher basic level
  • AI is becoming controlled and more widely applicable

At the same time, this is the moment to take a critical look at your license structure: do you use everything that will soon be included as standard?
