How does Azure MVP Robert work to optimize our services to you?
At Wortell, we work day in, day out to find the best solutions for our customers. Constant development and optimization are essential in this context. This enables us to continue to provide excellent service to our customers.
Curious about how we do this? Azure MVP Robert Prüst, who has been working at Wortell for four years now, gives us a glimpse: "I take a close look at our services to improve and further automate them. I create tools for our customers and solutions that optimize our internal processes, so that our services become even better."
Curious about what this entails? In this blog post, Robert shares three projects to illustrate this!
1. Stable customer environments without manual work
“For our monitoring and alerting platform within Azure, we have built a solution that is fully policy-based,” says Robert. “The entire process is automatically rolled out to our customers, and we maintain it based on Microsoft best practices.”
If Wortell or the customer rolls out something new, such as a virtual machine, the monitoring automatically adapts to it. “This keeps the environment stable for our customers, without any manual work involved,” says Robert. “Everything is done according to policy. That ensures peace of mind and reliability.”
2. Clear communication and continuous optimization around SLAs
To see exactly what is actually running in customer environments, Wortell has a report for internal use. “This gives us a clear overview,” says Robert. “We don't rely on gut feeling, but on data. This way, we know which resources fall within the SLA and what possibilities there still are.”
This information paves the way for concrete discussions with customers. Robert: "Suppose 24/7 monitoring on a virtual machine falls within our agreements. On Sunday night, the environment goes down. The report then provides an overview of the resources available within your current SLA and shows which resources you can use to supplement your SLA. This allows us to communicate very transparently about SLAs and continue to give clear advice to our customers, enabling us to continuously optimize our services."
3. More control over your policy
Robert is currently working on Wortell's cloud management platform: “We want to centrally manage the entire policy for our customers within Azure, in code.”
Why is this important to Wortell? “Sometimes different employees or even third parties set certain points,” says Robert. "Over time, policy information becomes fragmented. We want to ensure that policy management is entirely in code. This gives you overview and control. For example, if you want to know which policies you apply at which levels, you can find that information in one place."
What if something changes in your policy? “We can see that and provide feedback,” says Robert. “We move from assumptions to facts. This helps us make better recommendations. We can also help customers prevent certain compliance and security errors.”
This initiative highlights the importance of the Azure Expert MSP certification that Wortell recently obtained: “This certification is about having control over your processes and automation. That is exactly what we want to achieve for our customers. So that they can work easily and efficiently!”
