What is the modern workplace and how do you get more out of it?
The possibilities of the modern workplace are vast. But in practice, many organizations struggle with it. Lifecycle management, strategic innovation, multifactor authentication, the outsourcing of management: how do you actually deal with this?
To shed more light, we sat down with Peter Klapwijk, modern workplace consultant at Wortell. In this blog post, he shares his vision of the modern workplace and explains how you can get méér out of it!
Staying innovative with the modern workplace: practical issues
“The modern workplace supports the concept of ‘always and everywhere working’,” says Peter. “With a traditional workplace, you are dependent on dát what is in your own data center. A modern workplace is cloud-based, allowing you to perform your work time and location independent.”
In 2025, this is actually a must, because as an organization you want to stay innovative and move with the times. But as you embrace the modern workplace, you run into practical issues pretty quickly. A common bottleneck? Capacity.
Peter: “How do you ensure that end users actually become more productive? How do you keep up with developments, which are happening incredibly fast? Often organizations want to outsource management for strategic reasons. But then, of course, you have to work with a proactive IT partner who takes care of you, stays sharp and spots optimization opportunities.”
Staying up-to-date from a secure base: Wortell's approach
In Wortell you will find such’a proactive partner. “We first make sure that the basis is right,” says Peter. We focus on security. Nowadays, security incidents happen all the time. Therefore, we éérst take a careful inventory of the status quo, and then set up our basic settings in order to achieve a secure workplace.”
As soon as there is any question of a security incident, we will be able to set up a security system.
As soon as a secure workplace is in place, Wortell brings you up to date. Peter: “We make sure our customers are working with the latest technology. If you do IT management yourself, research often takes up a lot of your time. You have to install monthly updates, but also explore new possibilities and determine which of them are relevant to you. We take all that off our customers' hands. We ensure that machines and applications are always updated and secure.”
The management tooling zélf is also up-to-date, Peter explains: “Wortell also uses the latest technology, of course. That's why we can spot incidents on time and follow up reports accurately. And we keep everything set up according to best practices!
Result: méér focus on business issues and innovation
What concrete improvements does this approach by Wortell provide? “As an organization, you want to focus on business issues and innovation so that you stay ahead,” says Peter. “Maybe you're thinking about working with Copilot to boost efficiency. If you outsource your IT management, you can deal with such issues. We can also support you with that, by the way, if you want to!”
