Seamless IT migration at HLB Blömer: the power of collaboration and Azure
Recently, HLB Blömer accountants en adviseurs successfully completed a large-scale IT migration in collaboration with Wortell. This migration was the springboard to a future-proof, modern IT environment in the cloud with Azure as a solid foundation.
An important part of the project was the migration to Microsoft Azure. We rehosted all servers to Azure, transferring the entire infrastructure to a modern cloud environment. In addition, a new SQL environment was built within Azure, fully tailored to the needs of HLB Blömer. This step has provided HLB Blömer with a scalable, secure, and future-proof IT environment.
The project was characterized by exceptional collaboration between the teams at HLB Blömer and Wortell. Their joint efforts were essential for a seamless transfer and efficient integration of systems and processes. This synergy between the two organizations emphasizes the importance of collaboration and coordinated efforts in achieving success in complex projects.
“The dedication and commitment of the project team were indispensable and contributed to the success of this project,” emphasizes Esther van Huizen, partner at HLB Blömer.
Technical challenges
Challenges that were successfully turned into victories highlight the team's competence and adaptability. This not only contributed to the successful completion of the project, but also provided valuable insights and experience that will be applied in future projects.
Optimal limitation of business impact
The work environment was taken offline with minimal disruption, ensuring that the impact on business operations was limited. Thanks to thorough preparation in the week prior and the focus of the work on the weekend, business processes were able to resume largely as normal after the weekend. The emphasis was on minimizing disruption for end users.

Communication
The success of the migration project is partly due to clear communication and the involvement of management. Their active role and clear direction were crucial in motivating the teams and ensuring that the project objectives were achieved. The Wortell change and adoption management consultants worked behind the scenes to set the right tone and provide the right content.
The responses from employees to the transition have been positive. The transition from Microsoft-related systems went smoothly, while company-specific applications required more focused attention and care. The Wortell service desk is available to provide support for any questions or issues after the migration, while the project team remained available for immediate assistance in the days following the migration.
Vision for the future
HLB Blömer's environment has been taken over ‘as is’, which means that the existing systems and processes have been integrated in their current state. This approach offers a unique opportunity to evaluate and improve the current infrastructure. Marc Decloedt, service delivery manager at Wortell, emphasizes the impact of the migration: "This migration represents more than a simple change; it is a catalyst for further innovation and optimization within HLB Blömer. At Wortell, we have laid a robust foundation, allowing us to now focus on sustainable growth and improving all facets of our business operations."
Continuity and innovation thanks to Managed Services
The successful migration did not mark the end, but rather the beginning of a broader digital transformation for HLB Blömer. In collaboration with Wortell, the company has taken the step towards a future-proof IT environment by transitioning to Managed Azure and Managed Workplace. This transition to managed services enables HLB Blömer to strategically leverage technology as a driver of growth, innovation, and stability.
This transition means that HLB Blömer no longer has to worry about the management, security, and optimization of their digital work environment. The focus is shifting from putting out IT fires to building a resilient and innovative future with Wortell as their strategic partner.
