With Wortell, SPEYZER is building a modern, secure and future-proof IT foundation
SPEYZER is a prominent European wholesale group in the broad non-food sector. The organization is made up of five companies: EDCO, Edelman, SHI, MAXECOM and Newco. Together, they supply more than 57,000 non-food products to retail markets across Europe, from supermarkets and DIY stores to online platforms and specialist resellers. With a strong product range, logistical strength and market knowledge, SPEYZER helps customers move forward and the organization continues to build on growth, professionalization and innovation.
To enable further growth, a substantial modernization of the IT landscape was needed. The organization was working from three outdated IT environments that had reached their limits. This necessitated standardisation, manageability and further professionalisation. Together with Wortell, SPEYZER therefore took a big step towards a modern, secure and scalable IT environment.
From fragmentation to one future-proof foundation
In the past two years, SPEYZER has radically renewed its IT landscape together with Wortell. Where previously three outdated environments formed the basis, there is now a modern, flexible and secure IT foundation that is ready for further growth.
The initial situation called for action. The IT environment was fragmented and outdated and had reached its limits. That is why we opted together for a pragmatic approach, aimed at standardization, manageability and acceleration. Wortell took over the management of the existing IT environment, applied structure and worked with SPEYZER on further centralization and optimization.
The emphasis was on the secure centralization of the IT environment, bringing together workplaces in one tenant and establishing Azure as the foundation for the future application landscape. This creates an environment in which the various Operating Companies within SPEYZER can work together better, safer and more efficiently.
Pragmatic standardization, tailored to practice
The modernization of the IT landscape required not only technical knowledge, but also a shared course. With the right expertise and clear joint direction, but also various functional escalations to find the right direction together again, we have succeeded in taking these big steps. The standardization has been implemented in a targeted manner and closely aligned with SPEYZER's practice and needs.
Wortell brought in its Managed Services approach, consisting of Managed workplace, Managed security and Managed Azure. The goal: to create an IT environment that is available, scalable and secure, but also remains manageable for the organization. Not only to keep systems running, but to use IT as an accelerator of growth.
Collaborate with an understanding of content and priority
The collaboration is characterized by mutual understanding and the ability to switch quickly on content and priority. The way of working together also played an important role in this: friendly, but critical where necessary. Both remotely and on location in Lijnden and Eindhoven, the same ambition was worked on: an IT environment that matches the course and growth of SPEYZER.
The people at Wortell understand where we want to go, understand the need and deliver exactly what is needed for our organization.
Room for further growth, innovation and AI
This way of working together made it possible to keep up the pace, make choices and at the same time stay close to SPEYZER's daily practice. Especially in a process with multiple environments, Operating Companies and dependencies, this combination of pragmatism, technical knowledge and cooperation is essential.
The result is a stable and compliant environment in which availability, manageability and efficiency are demonstrably in order and fall within the agreed SLAs. This not only lays the foundation, but creates room for the next phase: further growth, innovation and strengthening the business.
Because the IT foundation is now modern, secure and manageable, SPEYZER can look ahead with more focus. The organization will have more control over the IT operation and more room to explore new digital possibilities, including smart applications of data and AI. In this way, the IT environment managed by Wortell moves along with SPEYZER's ambitions and supports the further development of the organization.
Availability, manageability and efficiency are under control and within our SLAs. This gives us room to further transform and develop and to spend more time on the business.
A joint team effort
The modernization of the IT landscape at SPEYZER is a strong joint achievement. By working together intensively, thinking critically and always focusing on the common objectives, SPEYZER and Wortell have realized a modern, secure and future-proof IT environment.
With this foundation, SPEYZER can continue to build on its digital transformation, supported by an IT partner who thinks along, moves with us and helps to use technology as an accelerator of growth.
