Wortell wins two Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards
Dual recognition for leadership in secure and human-centric digital transformation
Lijnden, 13 November 2025 — Wortell has been honoured this year with two prestigious Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards: Channel Copilot Partner of the Year Netherlands and Enterprise Security Partner of the Year Netherlands.
This double recognition confirms Wortell's position as a leading Microsoft partner in the Netherlands and its ability to translate technology into measurable value for organizations and society.
Technology with human impact
The awards underline Wortell's distinctive approach: using technology to empower people. Over the past two years, Wortell has helped countless organizations embrace AI, from healthcare to financial services and the public sector. In doing so, the company deliberately chose Microsoft Copilot as its strategic foundation.
Although there are several Large Language Models (LLMs) available, Microsoft Copilot is the only general LLM with a DPIA validated by the Dutch government. The strength of Copilot also lies in the ability to work with company data in a secure and compliant manner.
However, Copilot is much more than an AI assistant that can answer context-sensitive questions. It forms a springboard to AI Agents within organizations, a next step in which AI not only supports, but also independently accelerates and optimizes processes. As a result, organizations realize concrete improvements in productivity, job satisfaction and data security.
"AI only has value if it actually contributes to human well-being, productivity and safety," says Arno Grooteman, Director AI Business Solutions at Wortell. "Wortell not only helps organizations with the use of Copilot. What Wortell is really unique in is that it ensures that customer employees really start working with AI and that AI Agents are put into use. As a result, customers experience enormous added value from AI."
Femke Cornelissen, Chief Copilot at Wortell, adds: "We guide organizations in responsible AI use, from adoption to governance. This makes our approach sustainable, scalable and tailored to any business context."
Security as a strategic value
In addition to the recognition in the field of AI, Wortell also received the award for Enterprise Security Partner of the Year Netherlands. This was awarded for a multi-year transformation program within the Dutch infrastructure sector, in which Wortell developed a fully integrated security model that brings together IT and OT environments.
The results are significant:
- 99% faster threat detection (from 4 hours to less than 5 minutes)
- 96% faster response rate (from days to 15 minutes)
- 34% lower operational costs
"Cybersecurity is not just a technical discipline, it is a strategic foundation for trust," says Maarten Goet, Chief Threat Officer at Wortell. "This award confirms the strength of our partnership with Microsoft and our focus on sustainable digital resilience."
Recognition from Microsoft
The impact of Wortell's work is also confirmed by leaders within Microsoft. Frank Verlaan, Channel Sales Director, emphasizes the exemplary role that Wortell plays in the application of AI:
"What really inspires me is how Wortell has turned this success into a repeatable framework. You have shown that with the right mix of technology, training and attention, you can scale AI in a responsible way within organizations, in order to increase human impact."
In addition, Ben Rohling, Global Partner Solutions Leader at Microsoft, underlines Wortell's leadership in the field of security:
"What really stands out is how you took the conversation about security to the next level. You'll secure mission-critical infrastructure, demonstrate what end-to-end Microsoft Security leadership means, and prove that transformation and sustainability can go hand in hand. On top of that, with the use of AI and Copilot for Security, to completely reshape daily operations, you are setting a new standard in the market."
Strategic vision
"This double recognition reflects what Wortell stands for," says Danny Burlage, CEO of Wortell. "We believe that technology only has a real impact when it empowers people. Whether it's protecting critical infrastructure or increasing efficiency within organizations, our mission remains the same: to make organizations future-proof through safe and intelligent innovation."
